Man Nearly Drowns in Rescue Attempt off Sagamore Beach

A Good Samaritan who was attempting to rescue a pair of kayakers who had been blown offshore by strong winds at Sagamore Beach, MA, on Saturday, May 25, almost drowned.

The man was given CPR by a beachgoer and was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The kayakers—a man and his young son—were later rescued, with no reported injuries.
