Martha’s Vineyard Town Considers New Scallop Drag Rule


Tisbury [MA] selectmen recently held a public hearing to discuss a moratorium proposed by the town’s shellfish constable Danielle Ewart on the use of shellfish drags with teeth, such as those used in the island’s bay scallop fishery, according to the Martha’s Vineyard Times. Ewart proposed the moratorium to protect eelgrass beds.
