Merrimack River South Jetty Repair Awaiting Funds

Newburyport News: Permits are in hand, and plans are about a month away for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to rebuild the south jetty of the Merrimack River channel.
As usual, the big question mark is the money.
Edward O’Donnell, the chief of the Army Corps New England Navigation Section, told a regional beach-planning group this week that his agency will be seeking a congressional appropriation of about $5 million to repair the jetty at the northern tip of Plum Island.
