Minor Jetty Repairs Due in Scituate
September 28, 2016
Wicked Local Scituate: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning a small repair job on a jetty by Scituate Lighthouse.
The jetty sustained damage during Winter Storm Juno and like one of the Green Harbor jetties, it is eyed for repairs this spring, said Bill Kavanaugh, project manager for the Army Corps’ New England district.
“These are 2 very minor repair jobs,” he said.
The primary repair area is on the seaward end of the north jetty, where a stretch of about 100’ was damaged.
“There are also a few minor sections that were scrambled during the storm that we’re looking to fix,” he said.
