Missing Sailors Found Alive and Well

Two sailors (and their dog) who were reported missing last week after departing from Jamestown, RI, en route to Miami have been found alive and well, according to the Cast Guard.

Portsmouth, RI, resident Ryan Hollis (shown above) and Joshua Kaine Cairone left Jamestown onboard the former’s 43-foot Beneteau sailboat. When Hollis failed to check in with his girlfriend after 3 days, she alerted the Coast Guard.

Coast Guard crews from North Carolina searched more than 30,000 nautical square miles before locating the boat Monday afternoon (Nov. 4), roughly 100 miles off Cape Henry, Virginia. No word on why Hollis failed to call his girlfriend.
