MMTET Holds Boat Auction Fundraiser

The Massachusetts Marine Trades Educational Trust (MMTET) is currently auctioning off a brand-new 2016 Robalo R160 boat package complete with a 70 hp Yamaha outboard engine and matching trailer via its annual educational fundraiser. The auction will run through the final day of the New England Boat Show (Sunday, February 18), with the highest bidder winning the boat package, donated by 3A Marine in Hingham, MA, and Robalo Boats.. Last year, the fundraiser raised over $20,000 for the educational trust.

The fundraiser targets 2 goals: growing the number of young people active in boating and growing the number of young people pursuing a career in the industry. The MMTET will donate all fundraiser proceeds to 2 industry-wide initiatives that address these challenges. Fifty percent of the proceeds will go to MMTET scholarship fund for students pursuing a career in the boating industry. The other half of the funds will be donated to the association’s KIDS in BOATING initiative, which supports nonprofit youth boating programs in Massachusetts. The goal is to get more kids boating in a safe and smart manner while at the same time having fun on the water and enjoying the boating lifestyle.

The MMTET is a nonprofit branch of the Massachusetts Marine Trades Association. The educational trust was established in 2003 to promote education, training and workforce improvement within the Massachusetts boating industry.
