“Muscle Boats” Race Off Fall River
August 29, 2016
Providence Journal: Sleek racing boats, powered by massive engines, blasted through a course on the Taunton River, thrilling thousands of spectators Sunday when the Offshore Power Boat Association Grand Prix came to Fall River.
The competitors included a 42-foot catamaran sponsored by Alex and Ani, driven by Cranston’s Serafino Cazzani and powered by twin 1,500 horsepower turbo engines.
The boat took first place in the Extreme division, where boats can race at unlimited speeds with no limits on engine capacity.
This was the OPA Grand Prix’s second visit to Fall River in two years.
