Nantucket Ferry Strikes Freight Boat Sankaty

Inquirer & Mirror: The Steamship Authority‘s car ferry Eagle returned to service at 2:45 p.m. Sunday [December 4] after striking the freight boat Sankaty while leaving the Hyannis dock for its 9:15 a.m. trip to Nantucket.

According to a passenger on the Eagle, the vessel also struck the dock upon its return to the terminal. Passengers were given the opportunity to take the next SSA fast ferry to the island.
