Nantucket Jetty Repairs Completed
June 1, 2017
Construction crews have completed repair work to the two stone jetties flanking the entrance to Nantucket Harbor, according to the Inquirer & Mirror.
Rocks have been added to the structures over the winter, making them much more visible, even at high tide. Hopefully this will reduce the number of vessels that accidentally ground on the jetties. The work on the jetties began in Fall 2016 and finished up in mid-April, nearly two months ahead of schedule.
