Ultimate Lighthouse Tours!
June 1, 2010
If you love lighthouses, you’ll want to sign up for an Ultimate Lighthouse Tour offered by Save The Bay, an environmental group dedicated to protecting the waters of Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay.
The full-day lighthouse tours depart from the Save The Bay Center on Field’s Point, just south of Providence, where guests will board the Alletta Morris tour boat. The tour proceeds down the Bay’s West Passage and over to Newport, then up the East Passage and back to the Center’s docks. Along the way, guests will see and learn about more than 20 of the Bay’s historic lighthouses, among them Beavertail Light, Castle Hill Light, Prudence Island Light, Goat Island Light and Pomham Rocks Light. There will also be a walking tour of Newport’s Rose Island Light.
