National Marine Fisheries Service Holds Open House

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Marine Fisheries Service will hold an Open House from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. October 18, 2014 at 212 Rogers Ave., in Milford, Connecticut.
“There will be displays portraying the various research, and community-based activities that occur at the lab,” organizers said. “There will be marine scientists on hand to assist in guiding visitors through the lab and to answer questions. Groups with interests in marine sciences and the environment are encouraged to attend.”
There is no cost to attend the open house.
Organizers said , “displays will be centered around shellfish and finfish aquaculture, Long Island Sound habitat research, marine science sampling gear, a live ‘Touch Tank,’ and the lab’s history.”
The open house displays and activities are appropriate for all ages and all levels of interest, the release said.
