New England Boating TV Lake Champlain Episode Postponed
September 6, 2013
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Lake Champlain episode of New England Boating TV will not air Monday, September 9 at 7:00 as originally scheduled. In its place, NESN will air the Nantucket episode, followed by New Bedford, Massachusetts, at 7:30.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this rescheduling.
In the next episode of New England Boating TV, the crew heads west to their first sweet-water destination of the season–Lake Champlain. After launching the Boston Whaler 250 Outrage at the public ramp in downtown Burlington, Tom and Parker head out for some fishing with Capt. Brian Dunkling of Sure Strike Charters. The quarry: lake trout. And Dunkling delivers in short order!
After fishing, Tom and Parker get a tour of Burlington Harbor and the waterfront attractions, followed by a terrific dock-and-dine meal at Splash and a look at bustling Church Street.
Day 2 finds the crew in the town of North Hero, on what is known as the Inland Sea section of Champlain. Here, Tom and Parker sample a quieter side of Champlain boating, with trips to an island state park, rowing traditional adirondack guide boats, and waterskiing and tubing with some local teens. They also show you some shoreside attractions, such as Ladds Marina, the lovely North Hero House inn (where the crew stayed and kept the Whaler), and the Hero’s Welcome store, which features a great deli and an eclectic array of gifts, apparel, specialty foods, candy, wine and more.
All in all it was an incredible trip to Vermont!
