New Agency May Oversee Cape’s Herring River Project

CapeCodOnline: A new, independent agency may be formed to oversee implementation of the Herring River restoration project, based on an initial poll this week of boards of selectmen in Wellfleet and Truro [Massachusetts].
The project would reverse the effects of a dike constructed at the river’s mouth in 1909 that drastically limited tidal flow to 1,100 acres.
