New Bedford Picked to Host Olympic Sailing Events

Cape Cod Times: New Bedford and Buzzards Bay will host thousands of Olympic sailing athletes, coaches and trainers and spectators — with unprecedented views for fans watching from Fort Taber and other potential competition venues — if Boston wins the bid for the 2024 Summer Games, city officials and local sailing leaders said Thursday [June 4].

Mayor Jon Mitchell and Boston 2024 CEO Richard Davey announced on a windy, sunny, perfect day for sailing at Fort Taber that New Bedford would be the seat for sailing events in Boston’s bid for the Olympic Games.
