New Bedford Pushes for Much-Needed Dredging
September 29, 2017
SouthCoast Today: Three years ago, the state earmarked $35 million for dredging in [New Bedford] harbor.
Thursday night [Sept. 14], the City Council pressed the state’s legislative delegation, Cong. William Keating and Gov. Charlie Baker to appropriate the funding so that much-needed dredging can commence.
“The bottom line is we’re not utilizing the infrastructure we have here,” Ward 5 Councilor Kerry Winterson said.
The council voted to unanimously recommend the motion.
