New Boat: EdgeWater 262 Center Console
By Tom Richardson on January 19, 2016
EdgeWater Power Boats has introduced its new 262 deep-vee center console. Designed to perform with twin outboards, the EdgeWater 262CC is rigged with Yamaha F200 or Yamaha F250 4-strokes. An all-new deep-V hull design gives the boat excellent performance, handling and ride.
The 262CC features EdgeWater’s most ergonomic and sophisticated deck design to date, along with the builder’s advanced SPI (Single Piece Infusion) hull construction. The helm area and integrated hardtop with “Clear View” windshield are other innovations (the aerodynamic windshield design eliminates the use of vision-impairing aluminum tubing).
The 262CC also incorporates some of the best design elements from EdgeWater’s high-tech 368CC. The result is a boat that combines the family-friendly comforts of a dual-console model with the performance and fishability of a center console.
For example, the 262CC features wraparound bow seating with integrated, forward-facing backrests and lockable rod storage. The forward-entry console door affords access to a well-appointed head compartment with generous storage space. The leaning post is a new, modern design available in many configurations. Options include a premium cooler, grill, sink, storage and/or cutting board. A starboard-side dive door is standard for added convenience and accessibility.
Performance data with twin Yamaha F200’s shows a cruise of 26,7 mph at 3500 rpm burning 10.9 gph (2.46 mpg). At 4000 rpm, speed is 32.2 mph with a fuel burn of 15.2 gph. Top end is 51.3 mph at 6100 rpm burning 39.9 gph.
