New Boat: Pursuit C 238 Center Console

Pursuit’s new C 238 is a trailerable, versatile, deep-vee fishing platform loaded with thoughtful standard features, including a fiberglass hardtop, a roomy, walk-in console with head, and a tempered-glass windshield that offers weather protection and excellent visibility. Forward lounge seats with backrests and storage compartments below, and a set of double-wide helm chairs that convert to individual leaning posts provide comfort for family members and guests, making the C 238 more than a fishboat.

The hand-laminated hull is constructed from vinylester resin and engineered fiberglass fabric, along with an infused-fiberglass structural grid system with a molded finish and an integrated bilge. Like all Pursuits, the C 238 is protected by a 5-year hull/deck structural warranty, a 5-year blister-free warranty and a 2-year limited warranty.
Standard features include trim tabs with indicator lights and auto-retract, self-draining rope and anchor lockers, bronze through-hulls below the waterline, 3-step telescopic boarding ladder, 6 pop-up cleats, molded transom walkthrough with hinged transom door, custom cockpit upholstery with Dri-Fast foam and mesh backing, folding stern seat, and raw-water outlet with quick-connect fittings and 25’ hose.
Fishing features include 4 gunwale-mounted rod holders, port and starboard under-gunwale rod storage, FRP leaning post with powder-coated frame and dedicated cooler space, a 23-gallon, recirculating live well in the starboard transom corner.
The helm features a molded console with integrated footrest and forward-facing seat, hydraulic steering, stainless wheel, compass, 2 drink holders, 12V outlet and dual USB charger and fire extinguisher. The hardtop has an overhead glovebox, powder-coated supports, 4 rod holders, 2 tri-color LED overhead lights, and an aft-facing LED spreader light.
Rigged with a Yamaha F300 4-stroke, the C 238 (with 97 gallons of fuel and 3 people onboard) showed an optimal cruise of 26 mph at 3500 rpm, burning 8.7 gph and delivering 3 mpg. Range at cruise was 284 miles. Top-end speed was 48.4 at 5900, burning 25.5 gph and delivering 1.9 mpg.
