New England Boating TV: Lake Champlain
March 10, 2015
Lake Champlain’s a big body of water, but the NEBO crew does its best to cover it in this episode, which starts in Burlington. This lively city offers great launch facilities, marinas, transient accommodations and a protected harbor. There’s also some good fishing for lake trout nearby, as co-hosts Parker Kelley and Tom Richardson discover with Capt. Brian Dunkling. And let’s not forget the waterfront’s proximity to the bustling downtown area and its many shops and restaurants.
After getting a test of Burlington, the crew heads to North Hero, on the Inland Sea. From their base camp at the cozy North Hero House, they check out Burton Island state park and marina, visit the Ladds Landing marina and Hero’s Welcome general store, do some tubing and waterskiing with some local experts and even get a personal demonstration of some Adirondack Guideboats with company founder Steve Kaulback.
