In the next episode of New England Boating TV, co-hosts Tom Richardson and Parker Kelley set a course for Norwalk, Connecticut—a remarkably fun and diverse area for boaters of all types.

Base camp for the episode is All Seasons Marine in Rowayton, where Ted O’Neill and his team provide a great home for the NEBO crew’s Pursuit C260. From Rowayton, Parker and Tom embark on all kinds of adventures in the Norwalk area, including a visit to Sheffield Island and a tour of Sheffield Island Light with Mark Schlegel of the Norwalk Seaport Association. In another segment, Ted O’Neill and his family show Tom and Parker some other Norwalk Islands hot spots, including Cockenoe Island—a great place to drop the hook and swim, paddleboard, fish or simply relax.

Speaking of fishing, Tom takes an early-morning trip with local guide Ian Devlin in search of some striped bass just outside the Five Mile River. Despite the midsummer conditions, Devlin puts Tom on some fast action close to home.

Also in the show is a visit with Norm Bloom of Coops Island Oysters, who shows Parker how oysters are harvested and processed at his East Norwalk facility. Parker even gets to ride aboard a vintage 1920’s oyster dredge as the shellfish are scooped from the bottom of Norwalk Harbor.

Norwalk has no shortage of dining options, and Parker and Tom get their share of good food through dock-and-dine segments at Rowayton Seafood Restaurant, SoNo Seaport Seafood Restaurant and Harbor Lights Restaurant. Each offers a unique dining experience in terms of both venue and menu.

Tom and Parker also visit with longtime harbormaster Mike Griffin to learn about the convenient Norwalk Visitors Dock, in the heart of the harbor. Boaters can tie up here on an hourly basis or overnight while they check out the local restaurants and shops or visit the nearby Maritime Aquarium. Speaking of which, Tom and Parker also stop by the renowned Aquarium to check out its many exhibits featuring sharks, otters, seals and lots of local fish.

It’s another great episode you don’t want to miss!
