New England Boating TV Wins National Award

Lighthouse Media Solutions received a Telly Award in the “Best Television Series—Travel and Leisure” category for its New England Boating television series, which airs on the New England Sports Network (NESN). The Telly Awards, now in its 35th year, honors the “very best film and video productions, groundbreaking online video content, and outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs.” Telly Award Winners are selected out of nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents.
“It really is an honor to receive a Telly Award,” said New England Boating TV Producer Gene Allen. “It’s gratifying to know that the work we’re doing is being recognized by our peers as being the best in television production on all levels, including creativity, filming, editing, sound quality, image quality and story-telling.”
New England Boating is a 13-episode, weekly series that celebrates the region’s boating lifestyle and culture. Co-hosted by seasoned journalists and avid boaters Parker Kelley and Tom Richardson, the show visits a new boating destination each week to sample the local fishing, shopping, dining, history, watersports and more, as well as dispensing practical boating information along the way. Last season’s show was sponsored by GMC Trucks and Boston Whaler and their network of regional dealers.
New England Boating TV is produced and directed by Gene Allen and edited by Jimmy Baggott. Videographers include Jimmy Baggott, Tommy Costello and John Rizzo. The sales team is headed by Steve Wyman. Technical and web support are provided by David Jensen and Dave Dauer.
