New Haven Swing Bridge Rehab Discussed

New Haven Register: The city [of New Haven, Connecticut] is in the early stages of designing a rehabilitation of the Grand Avenue Bridge, one of 3 swing bridges in the city.
City Engineer Richard Miller said during a recent community meeting about the project that the current design estimate is $1.7 million, with an expectation that the Federal Highway Administration would cover 80 percent of the cost, while the city would pay 10 percent and the state would provide 10 percent. What the city does not yet have is the approximately $27.4 million needed for the repairs and rehab.
