New Onset Bay Center to Open This Summer

Formerly known as the Onset Bathhouse, the new Onset Bay Center will officially open this June. The Center, which was rebuilt by the Buzzards Bay Coalition to the tune of some $5 million, will serve as a hub for outdoor recreation and educational classes and events in Onset and on nearby Wickets Island, which is owned by the BCC.

The building will house sailboats, rowboats, kayaks, SUPs, lifejackets, and other equipment, as well as a large room for classes and meetings. It will also include a tribute to the late local environmentalist Dick Wheeler.

The programming ranges from day camps to weekend activities for families and sailing classes for adults.
