Nobska Light Restoration Work to Begin

Restoration work is set to begin on the iconic Nobska Point lighthouse, better known as Nobska Light. The Cape Cod Times reports that the Friends of Nobska Light has signed a contract with EnviroVantage of Epping, NH, for work on the first phase of the lighthouse’s rehabilitation, to include painting of the light tower. Work is scheduled to begin in September. Eventually, the lighthouse will feature a maritime museum, to be housed in the former lightkeeper’s house. The restoration work is being funded through grants from the Falmouth Community Preservation Fund, the Falmouth Road Race, private foundations and donations from the community.
