Northern Pike Tactics & Management on Tap in Concord, MA

The Concord Rod & Gun Club of Concord, MA, will host a free talk on northern pike on Tuesday, January 23, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Cody Rubner will be discussing Maine’s battle with northern pike as an invasive species, including the history of how this issue got to its current state, why pike pose such a threat, and what role anglers play in the situation. The presentation will cite Rubner’s extensive experiences with northern pike, as well as a recent interview with Maine Inland Fisheries & Wildlife’s Director of Fisheries, Francis Brautigam.

The discussion will then focus on fishing techniques for pike, including winter ice fishing.

Rubner recently graduated from the University of Maine in Orono, where he founded the University of Maine Fishing Club & Bass Team. He received his bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology and continually utilizes his science background to augment his fishing expertise.
