Norwalk Boating Center Ramp Repairs Delayed
October 16, 2015
The Hour: The worn-out launch ramps at the David S. Dunavan Boating Center at Veterans Memorial Park [in Norwalk, CT] may not get replaced this winter as had been hoped.
The Norwalk Department of Recreation and Parks has $1 million in its 2015-16 capital budget to replace the ramps and raise and repave the parking lot, but bids for the work came in well above that amount.
Michael A. Mocciae, the city’s director of recreation and parks, outlined the situation and options to members of the Common Council’s Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Committee at City Hall on Wednesday evening.
