Norwalk Rowing Group Hires Nationally Known Coach

The Norwalk River Rowing Association announced the hiring of Evans Liolin as Head Coach of the Girls Racing Team and Manager of Business Development.

Liolin comes to Norwalk River Rowing with over 20 years of coaching experience, most recently as Varsity Lightweight Men’s Coach at Georgetown University, where his crews excelled. Coach Liolin also coached at Yale, Northeastern, University of Chicago and the Boston Rowing Center. He has coached at the US Rowing Lightweight Development Camp and for the United States Junior National Team. Crews coached by him have won gold and silver medals at the US National Championships and Silver and Bronze medals at the World Junior Championships and gold and silver medals at the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta.

“I’m thrilled to join the Norwalk family,” said Coach Liolin. “The girls are highly motivated and the community is deeply committed to excellence. I couldn’t be more excited to get started.”
