Ocean Sunfish Rescued in Wareham, MA

On Oct. 17, members of the Wareham, MA, harbormaster’s office were alerted to a strange sight off Swifts Beach, in the Wareham River. A large ocean sunfish (also called mola mola) had managed to find its way into the river and was stranded in shallows along the beach. The boat crew was able to get a line on the sunfish and tow it out to deeper water, where it was released.
