Oil Spills into CT’s Thames River

Roughly 600 gallons of fuel spilled into Connecticut’s Thames River on Tuesday (September 24, 2013) when a Cross Sound Ferry boat was overfilled, according to an article on Courant.com.

Absorbent booms were put in the river to contain the fuel, and officials from the state’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said the spill would have no lasting effects on the environment.
