Major maintenance and repairs are in store this spring for three Azorean whaleboats built in New Bedford, Massachusetts, between 1997 and 2000, according to an article on SouthCoastToday.com.

To pay the $23,000 estimated cost, the Azorean Maritime Heritage Society is hosting two fundraisers — one was yesterday, Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Estoril in Fall River, and the other will be May 21 at the Sails of Portugal Wine and Food Tasting at the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
