Oystering Painting Preserved in New Haven

New Haven Register: The Sound School [of New Haven, Connecticut] has netted a maritime treasure that comes without gills, fins or a funky shell. It’s an oil painting.

Robert McNeil, whose forebears ran the McNeil Oyster Co. in the very spot where the Sound School now sits on South Water Street, recently donated the family heirloom to the school. It will hang in the school’s main office, located in the aptly named McNeil Building.
