Paddleboarder Transits Nantucket Sound

Nantucket Inquirer & Mirror: Summer resident Jake Jacoby, an investment banker from New York, took the hard way back to the mainland last week. Jacoby is believed to be the first person ever to cross Nantucket Sound on a stand-up paddleboard, traveling the 24.55 miles from Dionis Beach to Seagull Beach in Yarmouth in just over six hours and covered 24.55 miles.
Jacoby navigated by use of a GPS device strapped to his wrist, and it enabled him to chart a remarkably straight course across the sound.
