Popponesset Shellfish Grant Proposal Gets Town Approval

Cape Cod Online: An embattled 1.9-acre Popponesset Bay shellfish grant proposal has yet another approval from the town but could still face litigation and appeal from its outspoken opponents.

On June 14, the Mashpee Conservation Commission voted 7-0 to approve Richard Cook’s application to begin growing oysters in an area just west of the Popponesset Spit.

It is Cook’s second attempt to begin growing shellfish in the bay.
