The organizers of the 2015 Providence Boat Show, coming January 22 to 25, are reaching out to members of southern New England yacht clubs through a new event. The “Providence Boat Show Yacht Club Challenge” aims to bring together yacht clubs from around the region to “have a great time and promote goodwill through friendly competition.”

Each club is challenged to gather as many members as possible at the show’s New England Boating Experience booth and pose for a photo in front of the green screen with their club burgee. The club with the most members wins.

The prize will be the prestigious Providence Boat Show Challenge Cup—a perpetual trophy—and will include a case of Keel Vodka for a party hosted at the winner’s Yacht Club at a mutually agreed-upon date. The prize also includes the naming of a special Keel Vodka Drink in honor of the winning Yacht Club. The prize will be awarded on February 10, 2015.

The challenge starts January 23 at 10:00 and runs through January 25 at 5:00 p.m.

Club members will receive a special discounted entry fee to the show of $6. To receive the discount, tickets must be purchased online using the special promo code given to the Yacht Club Challenge Team Leader. Additionally, 10 complimentary tickets will be issued to the Team Leader.

Questions can be directed to members of the Providence Boat Show Production Team at (401) 396-9619 or margaret@rimta.org. More information and downloadable entry forms are located at the Providence Boat Show website on the Challenge Cup page HERE.
