Public Input Sought on Future of Rocky Point, RI

Rocky Point Amusement Park, circa 1970's.

WPRO: Rocky Point is officially owned by the state, so the big question now is: What will they do with the land?

Although the Department of Environmental Management (DEM) has said they will turn the coastal stretch into a state park, the Rocky Point Foundation and the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association are looking for more specific suggestions on how to best use the space.

On Saturday, the Rocky Point Foundation, Anglers Association members, elected officials and members of the DEM are inviting the general public to offer their ideas on how to revitalize the land.

The meeting will take place Saturday, April 4, at noon at Rocky Point in front of the former site of the saltwater pool.
