July 21, 2016
A two-masted schooner will visit the Massachusetts South Shore ports of Scituate and Hull beginning this Friday, July 22, 2016, as part of a tour honoring the history of the famed America’s Cup sailing race and educating locals about the maritime history of their communities, according to an article on PatriotLedger.com.
The 140’ America will sail to Scituate Friday, fresh from a visit to Martha’s Vineyard. The tall ship, America, is a replica of the schooner that defeated the British sailing team in 1851, launching the America’s Cup tradition.
