Research Ship to Survey Block Island Sound


Facebook Twitter More... A research ship from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has started a survey of the sea floor off the coasts of Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York.

NOAA Corps Cmdr. Lawrence Krepp tells The Westerly Sun that the 208’ Thomas Jefferson started its survey work August 19 and will need about 3 months to complete the job. The information will be used to update nautical charts for Block Island Sound.
