Researchers Gather Data on Cape Cod Rivers
January 25, 2018
The Cape Cod Times reports on the efforts of Robert Holmes, the deputy director and a senior scientist at Woods Hole Research Center, who 2 years ago created the Cape Cod Rivers Observatory, which gathers important data on the water chemistry of Cape Cod’s rivers.
Currently, the observatory samples 10 sites on 6 Upper Cape rivers weekly, as well as 2 off-Cape rivers. The data is available on the observatory website, and is used by researchers, scientists and municipal officials working on Cape Cod wastewater issues, as well as by those who want to restore and enhance populations of native brook trout.
