Cape Cod Times: The Cape Cod Canal is a picturesque place, and while most admirers take photos above water, researchers from University of Massachusetts Darmouth took their cameras below the surface this week as part of a process to bring water turbines to the area.

On Wednesday, UMass Dartmouth, along with a pair of companies, conducted surveys in the Canal near the railroad bridge to help determine potential testing sites for a hydrokinetic turbine, said John Miller, executive director of the Marine Renewable Energy Collaborative.
