Right Whale and Calf Spotted off Plymouth, MA

CapeCodOnline: A right whale mother and her young calf were spotted in the waters off Plymouth [Massachusetts] on Saturday [January 13], marking the earliest sighting of these animals on record in the area.

Right whales have their young in the warmer waters off of Florida and Georgia in January and December, said Charles “Stormy” Mayo, director of the right whale research program at the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies.
