Rockport, MA, to Consider Public Fueling Station

The town of Rockland, MA, is town is considering the installation of a public fueling station for recreational boaters inside the harbor. Since the 1970s, there has been no place for boaters to get fuel in Rockport Harbor.

The town’s selectmen will vote shortly on whether to begin preliminary research and planning for the project.

No details have emerged regarding the site of such a fuel dock, although when the project was first discussed last March, the Selectmen and Harbor Advisory Committee members believed the most practical place for the station would be off Granite Pier.
