Winninghoff Boats of Rowley, MA, has built a new 26’ aluminum-hulled fireboat for the Saco, Maine, Fire Department. According to David Pendleton of the Saco Fire Department, the boat will be berthed on a City-owned float at the Camp Ellis Pier in Saco, from April through October or early November. It will be used for calls on the Saco River below Cataract Dam at the downtown intersection of Saco and Biddeford, as well as within Saco Bay.

 

Winninghoff Boats is headed by 90-year-old Jack Winninghoff, and specializes in aluminum boat construction. Over its 40-year history, the company has built research and military vessels, tour boats, work skiffs, commercial fishing boats and sailboats.
