Salt Meadow Park Opens in Madison, CT
October 10, 2014
New Haven Register: The opening of Salt Meadow Park [in Madison, CT] recently was a small victory for Audubon Connecticut Director of Bird Conservation Patrick Comins.
In the early 2000s, Comins said he assisted in stopping the development of a proposed 140-unit adult housing development on the land—a rare “coastal forest.”
“Our coastline is highly developed, so (coastal forests) are very much scattered,” he said. “It’s a really nice example of one there in Salt Meadow Park.”
