Saybrook Point Marina has expanded its commitment to the environment by installing a new environmentally conscious marine fueling system.

Thanks in part to a Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG) administered by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, the marina has installed 2 new 10,000-gallon, double-walled, fiberglass-reinforced underground storage tanks for gasoline and diesel. These new tanks are not susceptible corrosion and have a lower risk for potential leaks, and equipped with a new electronic digital monitoring system that provides continuous leak detection. The system also has new eco-friendly fuel lines and dispensers.

“We’re looking forward to a fun-filled, eco-friendly boating season this year along Connecticut shoreline,” said Stephen Tagliatela, Managing Partner of Saybrook Point Inn, Spa, and Marina. “This is another example of our longstanding commitment to undertaking sustainable practices that help preserve and protect the environment in which we all live in.”
