The seawall that protects Scituate Lighthouse in Scituate, Massachusetts, is being replaced to better protect the area from storm damage, according to an article on WickedLocal Scituate.

The project, which started the week of August 5, is expected to take 6 months. The structure would be built using 8- to 10-ton granite stones, and will be at least 2’ higher than the present structure. Cost of the project is just under $720,000, and funding will come from Community Preservation funds, per Town Meeting approval.
