A lobsterman reported seeing a large Great White shark off Marshfield, Massachusetts, last week.

According to a report in Wicked Local Marshfield, harbormaster Mike DiMeo says the report came from a commercial fisherman with vast experience in the area, making the report credible. The lobsterman said the shark was 16 to 18 feet long and was seen one mile east of the North and South Rivers (also known as the Spit) off Fourth Cliff area.

DiMeo said boaters and swimmers shouldn’t be alarmed, but should use common sense in the area. He warned people not to swim at dusk, near seals or in deep water.
