Snowmobiler Pulled from Lake Winnisquam

Union Leader: The 25-year-old Belmont snowmobiler who was pulled from the 33-degree waters of Lake Winnisquam Sunday night [Jan. 11] was able to stay afloat in the water for an hour or more by clinging to his snowmobile helmet, authorities said.
Two Laconia firefighters are being credited with saving the life of Andrew Grant with a “heroic” rescue operation that began at about 7:45 p.m. about 1,500’ from shore on the lake, which at present has various thicknesses of ice, authorities said.
