Stamford, CT, Developer Ordered to Halt Construction Over Boatyard Plan
January 26, 2012
Stamford Advocate: Stamford, Connecticut’s Zoning Board will tell the developer of Harbor Point to halt construction at a contested 14-acre boatyard site in the South End that is part of a redevelopment plan.
“Close it up, chain it, gate it, don’t go back to it until you come back to us with a plan,” said Tom Mills, the board’s chairman at a meeting late Monday.
Board members unanimously voted to approve a draft resolution that orders property owner and developer Building and Land Technology to cease all construction activities on the property, including the removal or deposit of soils, until the board has received and approved an application to redevelop the site.
