Storm Damages Tucks Point Pier in Manchester, MA

The powerful nor’easter of October 16/17 severely damaged the public pier and access ramp at Tucks Point in Manchester By the Sea, MA, causing officials to close the pier until next spring.

“The DPW, Harbor Dept. and a marine contractor have all assessed the ramp deck and agree that it is not safe for use,” Manchester Harbormaster Bion Pike wrote in a prepared statement posted on Manchester’s Facebook page. The ramp is expected to be repaired in time for the start of the 2020 boating season.
