Tisbury, MA, Harbormaster’s Boat Sinks

The Tisbury, MA, harbormaster’s patrol and fire boat was discovered fully submerged at the Owen Park dock on Thursday morning, Oct. 3.

A crane barge was used to raise the vessel later that morning. According to the Martha’s Vineyard Times, both of the 250-hp outboard engines are a total loss, as is the $15,000 worth of electronics.

The town bought the vessel in 2011 from Welded Boat Co. using a port security grant for a total purchase price of $265,126.

No word was given on what caused the boat to sink.
