A Gorham, Maine, treasure hunter who has been salvaging a World War II era shipwreck off Cape Cod since 2008 that he believed had $3 billion in treasure onboard may be forced to abandon the treasure search, according to an article on PressHerald.com.

Treasure hunter Greg Brooks reportedly lost a business partnership with a California businessman after revelations that Brooks’ chief researcher forged documents intended to prove there was treasure about the SS Port Nicholson.
